It’s been a while since I last blogged. I’ve been busy with…oh, you know…life and things. I think sometimes we use busy as a synonym for stressed.
“How are you?” “Oh, I’m busy,” you say, implying your frenetic, feet-hardly-ever-touch-the-ground life.
Or sometimes, perhaps some people use busy as an indicator of self-importance. “Look at me, so many people desire my time, I’m so busy”.
Thankfully, I am neither of the above — I’m happily busy. But not too busy that I can’t take walks and enjoy this beautiful new season as it blooms. “April is the cruelest month” said T.S. Eliot in The Wasteland. I’m not so sure about that… it’s looking pretty perfect to me.
What is your April looking like? I’d love to hear from you in the comments.
I’m glad to hear that you’re happily busy! I tend to use “busy” as a synonym for “stressed.” I’m better about stress now than I used to be, though. I was a bundle of nerves until after law school.
April has been gorgeous in my neck of the woods! My daffodils (I planted 200 of them last fall) were lovely and lasted almost the entire month. 🙂

I think at some point in our lives, most of us probably use “busy” as shorthand for “stressed”. I know I have in the past, and probably will in the future. Law school must have been very stressful.
Glad to hear your daffodils bloomed beautifully. They are such cheerful flowers. 🙂

I love April. 🙂 And I understand your comments about being busy. Sometimes people do use “busy” as a synonym for self-importance. But there’s also life and its stresses. I guess that is busy. 🙂

Yes, life is certainly busy. 🙂
Glad you’re enjoying April. This time of year is lovely, especially the longer, lighter days.

Everyone’s “busy” aren’t they? Sometimes I’m guilty of using “busy” as an excuse for not doing certain things or following up with certain people when really, it’s more an issue of prioritization. But in any case, I’m glad to hear you’re “happily busy” because that’s the best kind. 🙂 My April has been rather a doozy but the outcome of it has been good– more clarity and all that. Still trying to make sense of it all in some ways but I definitely feel better now that the month is winding down. Hope you’re doing well, I miss talking to you!

I’m sorry to hear that you haven’t had the best of months, Lillian. But it’s good to hear that it’s getting better. I’ve missed our conversations too. Let’s catch up soon — I owe you an email (hopefully this weekend…)

They were so adorable! And they made really loud crunching sounds when they were eating the cat food. Very cute!
I’m glad you enjoyed the photos. 🙂 We had glorious sunshine last week, but this week we’ve had snow, hail storms and rain. Crazy weather!

Hedgehogs and hyacinths… That would have been a good title for this post. 🙂
Nature is really waking up around here. The other day I heard an owl hooting during the afternoon, probably out hunting for mice and voles to feed its chicks.

Oh goodness! I love the hedgehogs. We only have them here as pets, so it is fun to see them in the garden. And what lovely flowers. Spring is one of my favorite times, and it is fabulous to see how it has “sprung” in different landscapes. Thank you for sharing!

I’ve never heard of hedgehogs being kept as pets before. Here in the UK, they are common animals in the wild.
Thank you for reading. I’m glad you enjoyed the photos. 🙂

It’s so true what you said about the use of the word busy – I certainly use it to mean stressed!
