Here’s a little bit of silliness to make you smile on this Monday morning. I remember this rhyme from my childhood and it still makes me giggle.

Do you remember any rhymes or limericks from your childhood which make you smile?
Haha, sadly, the only limericks I remember are naughty ones :-p

Well, I have a tendency to giggle at naughty limericks too. π There is something inherently funny about limericks. Maybe it is something to do with their structure and rhyme scheme.

I don’t remember this particular rhyme — and I find when I try to dredge things up for my grandchildren, all I can remember is The Grand Old Duke of York π¦

I always loved the Ogden Nash rhyme…

And tasted it, and found it good!

I love limericks! I’m going to tell the tomato one to my niece when I visit her next week. I’m sure she’ll find it funny. Thanks for commenting! π

My grandfather had one from the Marine Corps, although I think he may have censored or altered it somehow… “The Navy gets the gravy, the Army gets the beans, phtttttt!” Where the raspberry noise is, something else was definitely there!
